Pink, It’s Like Red, But Not Quite

Posted by on September 29, 2009

new hair!

Babies make you feel old, well, not necessarily babies, but one preschooler and one would-be-toddler-if-he-would-just-get-off-his-arse-and-walk make you feel old.

I decided to counteract this by dying my hair and calling back to my long gone days of college, late nights and doing assignments on the train into the city. Suddenly I feel magical, I don’t feel like everyone is looking at me and thinking how washed up I look lugging my kids around and wiping baby snot up with my sleeve, everyone is looking at me and thinking how ridiculous my hair is. Win.

I love it! I dyed my hair purple for a while back, trying to convince myself that becoming a mom did not make me horribly uncool. I keep claiming I’m going to do it again, but I haven’t yet.

That was what I was going for, now people aren’t looking at me because I’m the one with the screaming kids, they’re looking at me because I’m the one with the silly hair :)

LOVE the colour! You’d make a great punk rocker with flowers in your hair :)

Just adding my support to your post, I do not have children myself but I am glad there are still informed, educated and switched on Mums like you out there bringing up our next generation :) .

I would add that people seem to not understand the reasons for this move by the Australian government as it will do very little to stop the acts of which Conroy speaks, firstly they are losing control of TV and other information channels like papers ..as it quickly moves on-line, which has been a source of dumbing down our society for a very long time.

Secondly this is test law for other western countries who are awaiting the results of its implementation here.. (for the good of the people) it is terrifying to most so called “Democratic” countries that a free and open source of information would be allowed to continue without restriction, after all who is going to tell the people what they should and should not know :) .

So here’s hoping your kids grow up in a freer society with more control and influence to change their own world, like having a more just and accountable political system and a more informed and civil society.
