About

I am Fern.

I’m a 20-something “al-dente” mum living on the coast of NSW, Australia. I reside with my overly tall and unusually hairy husband, Dan, our two sons, three year old Declan and one year old Connor, and a garage full of fabric, which I’m now fairly certain has taken on a life of its own.

In February of 2010 we experienced the stillbirth of our daughter, Robyn, at 36 weeks gestation.

I love being creative, watching action movies and eating junk food.

I have kept a blog for ten years now, I’ve met some wonderful friends via this medium, including my husband, who was awesome enough that he convinced me to move away from my native England and live with him down under. This is my soapbox, my creative output and my way of recording the life of my little family.

I also run CraftBlog.com.au, it features tutorials, links to crafty sites and a journal of my sewing and other crafts. I have an ongoing battle with depression, and crafting (and Zoloft) is my way of dealing with it. I consider CraftBlog to be another one of my babies.

I prefer pirates to ninjas, vanilla to chocolate and Arnie to Sly.
